Festival Friday – Local Bands & Local Brews!

Festival kicks off TONIGHT with 4 outstanding local bands and craft breweries. All bands will be on the Main Stage at Elmwood Park. Buttons are required and are only $5 per person – one button gets you into all 4 acts! You can purchase buttons at the gate which opens at 5pm or at the Berglund Center.

5:30 – Corey Hunley & the Millionaires
6:30 – The Low Low Chariot
7:30 – Rutledge
8:30 – Parrots of the Caribbean

Lawn chairs are permitted and children 6 and under are free!

While you are enjoying the music be sure to visit the local craft breweries who will be on site tonight: Sunken City, Chaos Mountain, Flying Mouse and Soaring Ridge.

Come on out and enjoy a great evening of local entertainment!!!

And as you may have heard, there have been some changes in the overall layout of some of the Festival’s activities but we’ve still got all the great things you’ve enjoyed in the past!!

WEEKEND FULL OF FUN

On Saturday, be sure to bring your family down and enjoy the many activities on the Elm Avenue side of the park. We’ve got the Carol Williams Kaleidoscope Stage where the action starts at noon and includes performances from:

Roanoke Children’s Theater
Mill Mountain Theatre
Einstein’s Monkey
Branan Thompson Magic
Clogging, cheerleading, Art to music and more!

You’ll also find all kinds of Children’s activities like the Fireman’s Foam pit – open Noon-2 on Saturday. Plus Children’s areas which will be open 10-5 Saturday and Noon -5 Sunday.

Festival/AEP Race Information

If you are participating in the AEP/Festival Run on Saturday, please note that the race will start at the corner of Jefferson Street & Elm Avenue but the after-race awards ceremony will be held at the AEP parking garage – Appalachian Power Garage (617 2nd St SW). Attention All Festival Online Button Purchasers

You should have received an email recently regarding how to get your festival buttons but just in case you didn’t see it, here’s it is with all the latest information.

Online ticket sales are going offline Tuesday, May 24th. That same day, each of you will receive a digital ticket to pick up your buttons during the Festival. There will be a tent near the main gate where you can exchange your printed ticket for your buttons. If someone other than the purchaser will be picking up the tickets, send us an email, and we will alert the button distributors to your special request.

On the 24th, along with your digital ticket, we will distribute a map to the Will Call both at Festival. You must either print the email, or have the code on your mobile device when you pick up the order.

Only button holders are permitted through the gates. You cannot use your digital ticket to be admitted through the gate, you MUST have a button.

Welcome to Festival In The Park, 2016!

Welcome, Festival goers, it’s almost time for Festival in the Park! We’re excited to bring you family friendly activities from children’s performances, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, food, an antique car show, and much more May 27th through the 29th in Elmwood Park.

Our musical lineup this year includes Parrots of the Caribbean, Rutledge, Corey Hunley and the Millionaires, The Low Low Chariot, Little Texas, Committed and 1964 The Tribute. In addition to the headlining acts, Festival will feature over 40 different music and entertainment acts on four stages.

Don’t forget, if you can’t join us for every show, we will be live-streaming all Main Stage musical acts at no cost. The stream will be accessible via social media and our website. We’re thankful for Final Track Studios for underwriting the live stream, with technical support provided by Cox Communications and Final Track Studios. The Live-stream is configured for every device – viewable from a computer, tablet, phone and even an Apple watch. Our website will feature a guide that details the live stream schedule.
